Sun, 18 March 2007 ![]() This podcast was supposed to be posted the day before, or on, St. Patrick's Day. However, due to some technical and scheduling problems, it's a day late--sorry it's not quite as timely as it could have been. For our big 25th show, we unveil our new format. Mur Lafferty will join me as co-host from here on out. We hope this change will liven the show up a little bit, but still remain informative and helpful to new and veteran Lulus alike. First up, we discuss Lulu Groups and, specifically, the new Group for people interested in podcasts--Addicted to Podcasting. Also, we talk about the new storefronts. For more information about Groups and storefronts, see the latest Lulu Community Newsletter (vol. 31). This week's creator interview is with Kevin R. Smith, author of Sundowners: The History of the Black Prizefighter. The Writer's Notebook with Mur Lafferty: writing when you just don't feel like it. Announcing the first Lulu Radio contest! Sat, 10 March 2007 ![]() This week's podcast is packed with content! Our first interview is with Shane Glines, artist and cartoonist, whose beautiful book S Curves: The Art of Shane Glines is currently number 11 in the all-time Lulu Top Sellers list. You can find out more about Shane's work at his website www.shaneglines.net, and check out his recent mention on the popular and influential blog BoingBoing.net. Our second interview is with blogger Melinda "Mindy" Roberts, who has published her popular mommy-blog as a blook--Mommy Confidential: Adventures from the Wonderbelly of Motherhood. On The Writer's Notebook with Mur Lafferty, Mur takes on the sensitive issue of jealousy and envy and how those common emotions can be detrimental to your relationships with your fellow writers. Don't forget, you can hear more from Mur at her own podcast--I Should Be Writing. Lastly, we have an interview with Gail Jordan, PR director here at Lulu.com. Gail and I discuss how to write a press release and how to approach journalists in a professional manner. You can find more self-marketing and PR tips at our Services Marketplace, and can email pr@lulu.com with any specific questions you might have on how to best promote your work. Comments[12] |
